Belki okul arkadaşısınız, belki iş, belki de aile dostu...
Bir sofrayı paylaştınız belki, bir yaz akşamında şerefe kadeh kaldırdınız.
Belki dünyayı nasıl iyileştireceğinize dair derin sohbetleriniz oldu.

Onu unutmadığını da biliyoruz.
Biz onun bir grup dostu olarak, 20 Temmuz 2021 tarihinde bu dünyadan uğurladığımız Leo’nun anısını yaşatmak üzere harekete geçtik.
Ailesi, yakın çevresi ile de yaptığımız fikir alışverişinden sonra, Ermeni toplumunda güzide bir yeri olan ve kısıtlı imkanlarla büyük başarılara imza atan Özel Getronagan Ermeni Lisesi'nde Leo adına daimî bir bağış fonu oluşturmaya karar verdik.
Adını Leo’nun yaşamında en kıymet verdiği duygu olan ‘dostluk’tan alan Leo Halepli Dostluk Bursu Fonu, her yıl en az üç başarılı ve ihtiyaç sahibi öğrencinin eğitim masrafını karşılayacak.
Leo'nun ailesi, yakın arkadaşları ve lise yönetimi ile birlikte yaptığımız çalışma sonucu, bu yıl destekleyeceğimiz üç öğrencinin isimleri belirlendi.
Üç öğrencinin toplam yıllık eğitim bedeli 81 bin Türk lirası.
Bununla birlikte amacımız, tek seferlik değil, çok uzun yıllara uzanan bir burs fonu oluşturmak.
Bu nedenle 2021 yılında yaklaşık 300 bin lira toplamayı hedefliyoruz. Ardından, 2022 ve 2023 Ağustos aylarında kampanyamızı tekrarlayarak, daha ileriki yıllarda bağış almasa dahi 3 öğrencinin bursunu karşılamaya devam edecek boyuta erişmiş (yaklaşık 85 bin dolarlık) bağımsız bir fon oluşturmayı amaçlıyoruz.
Toplanan meblağ, ailesi ve yakın çevresinin gözetiminde, yatırım danışmanı ve yakın arkadaşı olan Sinan Mısırlı yönetiminde bir fonda ABD’de işletilecek. Sinan, her çeyrekte fonun performans raporlarını, bağışları topladığımız bu sayfada ve yakında açılacak LeoHalepli.com sitesinden yayınlayacak.

If you are here right now, know that you have a meaningful place in Leo's life. You may have a friendship that goes back many years. You may be friends from school, work, or of family. You may have shared a dining table, or raised a toast on a summer evening. You may have had deep conversations about making the world a better place. Perhaps, you got to see him only so often; but you picked up exactly where you left off the previous time as if you saw each other every day. His authenticity, generosity and wit made an impact on you.
If you are reading these lines, it means that Leo Halepli has touched your life. We know what this means to you. We know that you have not forgotten him.
On July 20, 2021, as Leo’s friends, we set out to keep this memory alive.
After consulting with Leo’s family and other close friends, we decided to create a fund for a permanent scholarship in his name. As the recipient, we picked Istanbul Getronagan Armenian High School, a distinguished institution within the Armenian community that maintains high levels of academic achievement with limited resources.
Leo's warmth and charm surrounded him with many friends from different walks of life and he valued and cherished each one of these connections; hence we named our project The Leo Halepli Friendship Scholarship Fund. Every year, the fund will cover the education expenses of at least three successful students in need.
The three students to be supported by the fund this year were chosen after discussions among Leo's family and friends and with the school administration.
It takes approximately $10,500 to cover the tuition costs of three high school students, but our goal for 2021 is to reach $30,000. By repeating this campaign in 2022 and 2023, our 3-year goal is to grow the fund to a total of $85,000, the necessary amount to sustain 3 students every year, in perpetuity.
Once the initial $10,500 is collected, the funds will be immediately transferred to the Istanbul Getronagan Armenian High School and the scholarship will go into effect. Any additional amount will be pooled in The Leo Halepli Friendship Scholarship Fund. Under the supervision of Leo's friends and family that are organizing this campaign, Sinan Misirli will be managing the fund and will be providing performance reports quarterly to all donors. These reports will also be posted on LeoHalepli.com, which will be launched in the following weeks.
