Leo Brouwer Writes for Alturas Duo!

Hi!

This is the Alturas Duo, Scott Hill, guitar and Carlos Boltes, viola and charango.

On October 14th, 2023 at MoCA Westport, in Westport Connecticut, Alturas Duo will be premiering a piece for viola and guitar by the legendary Cuban composer, Leo Brouwer! We have already raised a good quantity of the funds necessary, but we need your help to arrive at our much-needed goal of $5000.

For this event, Alturas Duo will join Yale's ensemble in residence, Callisto Quartet and the East Coast Contemporary Ballet to perform together in a concert titled, Desde Adentro - From Within. In addition to Brouwer's new work, the concert will also feature Javier Farias' "El vuelo de tu alma" for string quartet, guitar and charango. A work dedicated to the memory of Victor Jara. This piece will also include a world-premiere choreography by East Coast Contemporary Ballet.
