Lenny Sanchez Brain Tumor Surgery Support
Donation protected
Our sweet Lenny has been suffering with chronic vertigo for more than 2 months, our amazing doctors have discovered that he has a benign Brain Tumor. This rare Acoustic Neuroma Tumor, also called Schwannoma, is the size of a walnut, is inflamed, and is pushing against his vestibular nerves, impacting the brain, leading to some cerebral fluid drainage, and the formation of cysts. This explains his vertigo, balance issues, and hearing loss.
In late May, Lenny will undergo an intricate brain surgery and the neurosurgical team of doctors is hopeful they can remove most of the tumor and cysts. Surgery is expected to be 8 hours, with 3-5 days in the hospital before returning home for recovery and rehabilitation.
I'll be honest, this has been completely debilitating - Lenny hasn’t been able to work, and it will be awhile before he is back on his feet. Waiting for surgery is difficult, but we are taking it one day at a time. He loves working with his hands is trying to keep busy strumming his guitar, playing the drums and piano. He’s learning Italian online and attempting any project he can get his hands on – but he has to do everything a little at a time an in slow-stride.
We are so grateful for friends and family who have reached out with love and support, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We are now trying to tackle the hospital, surgery, and rehabilitation bills which is more daunting than ever with Lenny not working.
It is not easy to ask for help, but we find ourselves at this place and we need help. We ask for your help financially, if you are able, to make a donation for Lenny’s medical expenses, and to help our family keep putting one day in front of the other.
Thank you for your love and friendship and support....Dawn, Lenny & Leo
