Lending a Helping Hand to Dr. Layton After the Eaton Fires
Donation protected
My name is Soumya Andani, and I am raising funds for a very dear friend of mine, Dr. Layton. At 72 years young, Dr. Layton is a therapist by profession who had been living with her daughter and son-in-law. Tragically, their home was destroyed by the Eaton fires in Pasadena in January and declared uninhabitable. Since it wasn't her primary residence, Dr. Layton is not covered by any federal or state assistance, or insurance.
To make matters worse, her son-in-law recently lost his job, and their insurance is not providing enough coverage to replace their home of equal value. Dr. Layton's daughter must now focus on figuring out their own living situation, leaving Dr. Layton without a place to call home.
With less than 30 minutes' notice to evacuate, Dr. Layton and her daughter left with only essential documents, their dogs, and phone chargers. Since this tragedy, they have been staying in various temporary accommodations, such as hotels, relative's homes.
While Dr. Layton is working on finding a long-term housing solution, I am requesting your help to support her in the interim. We had hoped that aid would materialize through FEMA, state aid options, or insurance, but unfortunately, nothing has come through for Dr. Layton. Despite her dire situation, she has been too proud to seek assistance from her community.
Let me tell you about the incredible person Dr. Layton is. She is one of the most generous and giving individuals I have ever met, always offering her talents as a therapist pro bono to those who cannot afford to pay. In her free time, she tirelessly volunteers for various good causes. Dr. Layton is a phenomenal human being who has a transformative effect on everyone who has the privilege of knowing her.
We are grateful for any contribution, no matter the size. Your generosity will help Dr. Layton get back on her feet and start rebuilding her life after this unimaginable loss. The funds raised will be used to find a new place for her to stay, cover food and medical bills, and support her while she determines her path forward. Despite the challenges she faces, Dr. Layton remains a strong and exuberant person.
I am appealing to my friends and family, as my contribution alone is not sufficient to provide the support Dr. Layton needs.
Thank you for your love, support, and kindness during this challenging time. Your contribution will make a significant difference in Dr. Layton's life.
