I'm Curtis. Curt if we're friends and family. If you know me, you know how important it is to me to be a helper. That cover photo is one of the most heartbreaking pictures I've ever seen. Let me tell you why. Jared and I became friends at a time when both of our families were struggling with housing. That friendship started more than 10 years ago. When he announced that they were moving to their new apartment, I literally cheered out loud for them. I was thrilled that my buddy and his family were making big moves upwards. So it crushed me when he announced that there had been a car accident while they were moving belongings out of storage in to their new home. Their car had gone off the road and in to a pond, mostly submerged and sinking. Chelsea acted as fast as she could, three children in a sinking car. Strangers sprang in to action,, helping as best as they could. One child panicking and unable to calm down, Chelsea went under to hold her baby out of the water until help could arrive. Another pulled to safety but one still trapped in the car just a little too long. Chelsea and Xion were simply under water too long and spent three days in comas, praying for a miracle that just didn't come. We all know that's a living nightmare to have had to experience. Jared and the two other kids relive this several times a day for these last three years. I reached out to you all three years ago to help Jared and the kids with the expenses they were about to face and friends, family and strangers alike pulled together and raised a wonderful help for this family lifting some of the burden in the hour of greatest need. Since then, it's been a struggle but Jared has done all he could to keep moving forward. I've kept a watchful eye on him and the kids and I hope he'll forgive me for this but I think he really does need a hand again right now. His own mental health is struggling as he has tried to keep things together and I think he and the kids would benefit from a little community help right about now. Anything would probably help, from cards or meals or donations to help them know that they aren't being forgotten and they're never alone in all of this. If you've got the heart to help, please do. He's a good guy and the kids are truly amazing young people who don't deserve to go through this tragedy especially at such young ages.

I'm setting the goal for $5,000.00 to help cover bills and meds as Jared is a workhorse that refuses to give up and if this tiny gesture helps keep him able to care for them, then I need to see this happen.

If you know me and my volunteer works over the years, then you know I wouldn't be asking for help for them if it wasn't a truly worthy cause. Thank you all in advance for any and all help you can offer. I love y'all.
