Lending a Hand: A Mom's Path to Recovery

If you know me well, you know I don’t ever ask for help from anyone. I’m usually the one to try & help someone in need; even strangers when I’m able to.

A few months ago I was diagnosed with papillary carcinoma(cancer) in my thyroid. I had a tumor growing on it that was the size of a kiwi. This resulted in having to have surgery to remove it along with my thyroid gland. The tumor was aggressive & imbedded to the point my vocal cord on that side got stretched while the tumor was being removed. I am almost 4 weeks post op & still struggling with speaking properly.

Now to the part why I am asking for help. I work part-time so that I can care for my children that I have very minimal help with(that’s a story for another day.). I do not get vacation or sick pay. I was not able to get short term disability either. Every day I did not work or not work my full hours for the day, I do not get paid for. I’m needing a little help with bills & school is fast approaching to get supplies & pay for sports & other beginning of school necessities.

If you’ve made it this far, I thank you for at least your time & good vibes <3
