Hi everyone,
First, thank you for reading this. Our loved one needs your support. Lawanda was driving to work when a guy turned directly into her driver's side. The car accident was very horrific and she endured several severe injuries. The impact broke both of her legs which resulted in rods being placed to fix her femurs, 2 fractures in her skull, bruises and bleeding in her brain, a broken ankle, broken bones in her face and ear, loss of hearing in one of her ears and vision problems in one eye. Also, she had fluid in her lungs, bloodclots and recently had facial reconstructive surgery.
She is a proud, devoted elementary school teach that truly loves kids. Lawanda is also a Claflin University alumna and "DedAKAted" member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She has a very long road of recovery ahead and still needs our support. Insurance will not cover all of her expenses (not to mention her monthly bills that will pile up due to being out of work for months).
She is making tremendous progress everyday and her team of doctors are amazed daily because her survival/steady recovery is a miracle. We thank everyone for your kindness and generosity. We ask that you continue to pray for Lawanda and her family. Lawanda's family urges everyone to learn from this situation by driving carefully, not rushing and not speeding. Look out for other drivers who may not be focused and take your time to get where you are going. It takes seconds to change your life or someone else's life forever.
