Help a HEALTHCARE HERO and a mother of 5 children!

Hi! My name is Lynna Routt. I am doing this fundraiser to help my dear friend Katrina Ahrens and her family. The following information is the latest that has been provided by her husband. Katrina has been an LPN for 9 years. After a lot of hard work and determination she was scheduled to graduate from nursing school in September. The week she was scheduled to graduate she starting having symptoms that caused her to be admitted into the hospital on Sept 20th. She went in the hospital due to balance issues and slow speech. After multiple days and tests, they thought it was all due to an Iron deficiency. She had an iron infusion in the hospital and was ordered to do more at an outside facility. After being released, the insurance company denied her infusions until she did 30 days on over the counter iron tablets. After leaving the hospital she had an appointment with an OBGYN who thought that heavy periods were part of the problem. She is currently scheduled for a procedure on Nov. 11th to correct that issue. Over the last month she started having more difficulties. Her speech, short term memory, mobility, and her personality

changes, all being effected by whatever is going on with her. On Tuesday October 18, she returned to the hospital. After 4 MRI's 1 with contrasts of the brain. 3 EEG's, 2 EKG's, 24hr urine sample, and multiple blood tests the medical team exhausted all their knowledge and transferred her out to Ohio State Medical on Thursday Oct 27th. Currently, she is repeating test, running new ones, has a second lumbar puncture "spinal tap" scheduled to rule out the deadly disease of CJD or any other type of auto immune disease. Katrina and her husband Chris have 5 children and are doing their best to juggle life at the moment. Due to Katrina not working, the family needs assistance with their day to day obligations.
