Lend a Hand…Fathers Funeral and Home Restoration

Hello friends and family,

As many of you have heard, our family has been struck with one devastating tragedy after another. On Friday 01/07/2022, a tree fell on our home making it uninhabitable with no clear indication of when and if we can move back in. We had to grab our valuable possessions move them into a storage unit and relocate our fur babies to a safe location. While my parents attempted to resolve the situation from afar, three days later our father, Rod Smith, unexpectedly passed away from a heart attack. Currently, we are trying to smooth out the situation since these series of events have happened so quickly and suddenly…we have lost our sense of direction. Our father was our compass, cheerleader, and foundation but now we are scrambling on how to get back to our feet. At this time, our family has been grateful for the kind and loving support from each of you. We are doing our best to help our mother transition into a shockingly different life. Considering that everyone expresses their love in different ways, some of you have asked how they can help in a monetary manner. If you would like to contribute then this will cover the cost of transferring his body from Mexico to Portland, Oregon and helping us get back to our “new” normal. Nevertheless, thank you for the prayers, the love, and abundance of patience that you have all expressed to our family. We will never forget how you all made us feel during this sensitive time. Please keep our mother, Rubi Smith, in your prayers and thoughts as she has to return to Portland with no home and no husband.
