I hate to share this, but my car was stolen on Friday night. As many of you know, my car is not just transportation — it’s also my main source of income. Without it, I can’t work, and now I’m facing a serious deadline.

I’m short $200 for rent — otherwise, I’m looking at just 10 days until I’m kicked out of my current place.

Hi, my name is Michael Tinker. I'm reaching out during a difficult time to ask for a little support as I work to regain stability and move forward.

In early May, I was in a car accident that left my vehicle undriveable. Since I drive for Uber full-time, I immediately lost my main source of income. Uber informed me that I couldn’t drive again until my car was repaired — but I didn’t have the funds to cover the cost. I applied for unemployment right away, but I’m still in the process of getting approved.

While this time has been incredibly challenging, I’ve made real progress mentally and emotionally. With the right medication and support, I’m feeling better than I have in a long time. I've even figured out a temporary repair solution for my car and have recently started driving again to generate some income.

Alongside all of this, I’m working toward a bigger goal: moving back to the Pacific Northwest — the only place that’s ever truly felt like home. I’ve lived in several parts of the country, but the PNW is where I feel most grounded, supported, and at peace. I’m ready to rebuild my life there.

If I had family to turn to, I would — but I’m the last member of my family still around. That’s part of why this ask is so difficult and humbling. I’m not someone who asks for help lightly, and I want to be clear: I’m more than willing to set up a payment plan to repay anyone who is able to loan or donate funds during this time.

This fundraiser will help me cover essential expenses like rent, bills, and car repairs, while giving me the breathing room I need as I wait for unemployment assistance and work toward long-term stability.
