My name is Suzanne. May I share a story with you?

Sometimes people go through difficult events which present life lessons, challenges, and perhaps do-overs. I'm a firm believer in that everything happens for a reason. Unfortunately it is my time to go through the gauntlet.

The last couple of years I have struggled with health issues to the point that I've had to choose to go on long-term disability. Weeks after making this choice, another set of health problems were diagnosed with regards to my legs. All of this got heavier when I realized that I will lose my health insurance due to being on long-term disability as of July 31, 2026.

It's been very hard to ask for help as an independent person and sometimes even harder to accept it. I've been okay at asking for help concerning the little things, but the bigger things which are doozies are quite different.

In short, the medical bills after the health insurance terminates will be a lot of money, and there's rent along with my regular bills. I try to be as frugal as possible but sometimes that's not enough. I understand it's tough for most everyone out there, but if you are able and willing to help I will welcome your assistance.

Mi nombre is Suzanne. Me permites compartir mi historia contigo?

A veces las personas pasamos por momentos difíciles, que nos presentan retos, lecciones y que nos que nos cambian el rumbo de nuestras vidas. Lamentablemente para mi, este es un momento muy critico.

Durante los dos últimos años, he pasado por varios problemas de salud. Tan fuertes, que he tenido que tomar la drástica decisión de declararme en Discapacidad a largo plazo. Unas semanas después de haber tomado esta decisión, otra cantidad de problemas médicos me fueron diagnosticados, esta vez, en mis piernas. Todo se hizo peor cuando me enteré de que perdería mi seguro médico el 31 de julio de 2006, debido a encontrarme en el estado de Discapacidad a largo plazo .

Ha sido muy difícil para mi pedir ayuda, siendo yo una persona independiente, acostumbrada a valerse por si misma, y mas complicado aun, recibir esa ayuda. Siempre pude pedir apoyo en cosas pequeñas, pero en las cosas mas grandes, que son las mas graves, la cosa es distinta.

Para hacer la historia corta, los gastos médicos serán astronómicos cuando ya no tenga seguro médico. Y además, tengo que pagar mi renta, los servicios y todos mis gastos regulares. Trato de ser lo mas ahorrativa y sencilla posible pero eso ya no es suficiente. Entiendo que son tiempos muy difíciles en lo económico para todos, pero si puedes y tienes la voluntad, tu ayuda será bienvenida.
