Lend a Hand to Erica and Cassandra Wells

Hello friends & family. It's Cassandra Wells - mother of Erica Wells (Mama Wells to some). Erica is going through the biggest challenge/health ordeal of her life!

Due to complications from diabetes, Erica has lost most of her vision (diabetic retinopathy) and has kidney failure (now on dialysis). She has other health conditions, such as high blood pressure, gastroparesis, sciatica pain, and chronic neuropathy pain. In addition to that, she is currently recovering from a right leg tibia fracture (aka: a broken shinbone) due to her bone health is compromised by diabetes as well - so for now she is wheelchair-bound while healing. She battles depression and anxiety, but is hanging in there. It is truly heartbreaking watching her go through this.

We are constantly hoping and praying for things to improve. No one likes to admit that they can't handle things, but it's been very hard - especially with a wheelchair involved (and no car), but we do the best we can for transportation which is costly/adds up. Expenses are high and money is low - especially since I had to make the decision of resigning from my job to become a full-time caregiver for Erica. It just became too overwhelming to do both.

The goal is to try to on top of the many accumulated expenses (medicine, supplies, transportation, etc.). Maybe we can even find decent transportation with a used car. Hopefully, something without too many mechanical issues. Just something reliable to get us from point A to point B, C, D, etc. I know we all have our own personal struggles - especially these days, but ANY help that you could provide (or God sees fit to send our way) would be greatly appreciated!
