Hello, my name is Amber. I am 48 years old. On December 11th, 2024, I was on my way out the door for work, stepped off my porch, and fell. I thought I just had a walk-off sprain. After 2 days of my foot swelling and not getting better, I went to urgent care. They did an x-ray and told me I had a fractured foot. They put me in a medical shoe. I was out of work for a month, then went back to work with restrictions, sitting in a chair to do my job at Taco Bell. I then made an appointment with my regular doctor. He took an x-ray and then referred me to an orthopedic doctor. I had 4 appointments, and all 4 x-rays showed it was still not healing. He checked my vitamin D, which was low, thinking that's why I was not healing. He put me in a boot, but the boot was too big. I went back to work but couldn't walk with it. I took time off work and got medical leave money for three months to help pay my medical bills and regular bills, thinking it would heal. Then they sent me to a podiatry doctor. He did an x-ray and gave me a better boot to walk in. Then he said he wanted an MRI. He called me and said it's still not healing and I have fluid on my foot. He put in a referral for an ultrasound bone healing system. I use this for three months, and if it's not healing, off to surgery I go. Praying I don't go to surgery. The doctor thinks it's not healing because of my autoimmune disease and lupus. Worried if I go to surgery, it will take a long time to heal. My medical bills are adding up. I can only keep up with my regular bills at this time. Any donations will help. I can't drive and have to rely on my husband family and a friend to take me to work and appointments.
