I tried running a fundraiser on Facebook last year, but coming up short by 39,500NOK ($4,600) I am now trying again so I can finally fix my teeth and get my health back by treating this awful, very painful disease.
This is not something that comes easy or I do lightly, but I’m at the end of my ropes. So I turn to you and ask for help.
I have a hereditary disease, passed down from my mama, called dental periodontitis. Basically it’s also called gum disease, is a serious, chronic gum infection that damages the soft tissue and, without treatment, can destroy the bone that supports your teeth. Periodontitis has been linked with more than fifty diseases and conditions, including chronic kidney disease, Alzheimer’s Disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and certain types of cancer. Periodontitis causes a lot of excess inflammation markers to build up in your blood, which can also trigger heart disease, hypertension, and heart attacks.
My condition has gotten severe, and as you can imagine it causes me a lot of pain and discomfort. I have been talking to specialists in the field of Periodontitis, and there IS a way for me to heal and get rid of this disease forever. But it will cost me a lot of money. Money I do not have. I am a fighter and not known to give up, so I have tried to get this much needed and lifesaving treatment covered by my country’s famous health system. But I have been turned down and was sent packing with a loud “No, we won’t help you” ringing in my ears.
Feeling defeated, plain scared and sad I therefore turn to you. Hoping I somehow can raise the $4,600 (39,500NOK)I need to once again save my life as I have had to do so many times before as a lifelong abuse victim. This time, after 40 years of fighting, I am exhausted and too tired to fight alone. I have gotten so used to fighting my own battles alone that to ask for help like this comes hard to be honest. But my health and my life is more important than my pride. So I ask you for help. Any amount will help, small or large. Even if it’s just a dollar or two.
Every single dollar will go to my medical treatment so I can finally get my health back, and save my life.
