WE ARE ADDING TO OUR ORIGINAL CAMPAIGN DUE TO UNFORESEEN CHANGES IN TREATMENT.
A month ago we raised an initial amount to help
Katt DeSousa's gorgeous 9 month old cavoodle Lena who is dealing with an ongoing incredibly uncomfortable condition that requires an operation.
Lena was booked in to have the operation at Lort Smith (copy of initial consult estimate is below - I blacked out Katt's address that is not an error) when the surgeon decided right at the 11th hour, due to her age, to opt for another round of specialist tests. Subsequently, Katt's been around in circles and ended up spending a lot more money than originally planned.
We initially raised around $1600 to fund the initial vet bills which less the fees charged by GoFundMe provided Katt with around $1490. However another $1700 now has to be spent to deal with Lena's ongoing yeast skin infection on her vulva including the use of a specialist animal surgeon (copy of SMS below). As you can imagine this additional round of specialist consultations has been both expensive and frustrating.
The specialist has now said episioplasty would be the answer and the costs circa $2-$2.5k.
Upshot of all that is that the $1600 initially raised falls well short of what's required.
