Help Len & Aaron Recover After Devastating Fire

Hi, my name is Leah Christensen and I’m raising funds for Len & Aaron Hoard (my dad and brother), whose business was the recent victim of a terrible fire. On May 12, tragedy struck in the Transcona area of Winnipeg when a neighbouring fire broke out next to Len & Aaron Hoard’s business, Autovation. High winds pushed the flames through their property, completely engulfing the building and the machinery they had spent nearly three decades building. Thankfully Len and Aaron escaped the flames with minutes to spare. However, despite the best efforts of fire crews, the damage was total — 28 years of hard work, innovation, and dedication lost in a single day.

Autovation wasn’t just a business. It was Len & Aaron’s livelihood, their life’s work, and a cornerstone of the local community. For 28 years, they created custom machines and innovative solutions for many businesses across Winnipeg. They were also the designers of one of western Canada’s largest sawmills — Mammoth Sawmill — a critical operation for many in the region. Their commitment to helping others, solving complex problems, and giving back to the community made them an irreplaceable asset.

The loss of Autovation is more than financial — it's a deeply personal and communal tragedy. Now, as Len & Aaron face the overwhelming task of rebuilding from nothing, we are reaching out to those who know the impact they’ve had.
