Hello everybody! My name is Lemon, and I am a 1.5yr old pitbull that still needs ONE new leg to be normal again. My mama is a veterinary student at Michigan State and took me into her home last year knowing I had a lot of medical issues, hoping that she would be able to find the funding needed to get me a bright, shiny pair of new legs. Without this surgery, I probably won't live as long, and look at a lifetime of painful arthritis and walking issues. She was able to fundraise enough to cover the first leg last year, and I am SO GRATEFUL for all of those who donated and made it possible.
Now it’s time to start raising money for my other leg, as I’m having surgery on my left front leg this summer!
Lemon was diagnosed with bilateral distal radius physeal dysplasia, partial displacement, and early moderate varus (medial) axial growth deformity, either due to an untreated injury as a puppy or predisposed genetic condition. The orthopedic specialist quoted $4,700 per leg, plus initial staging and recheck fees. Any amount helps!
