Lemmy’s Vet Bills from Dog Attack
Donation protected
Lemmy is a neighborhood cat who was kicked out of his house earlier in the year because he was spraying. I’ve been feeding him and basically taking care of him since then. I got him TNR’d (trap-neuter-release) about a month ago and sometime after that, the neighbor who had him inside previously told me that since he was now fixed they would be bringing him back inside. I don’t know the exact circumstances but I believe that they brought him and and he was almost immediately attacked by their large German Shepherd. I didn’t see him for at least 4 days but had assumed he was safe inside. Early Sunday morning (12/17) I found him lying on my front porch with many serious wounds. I brought him to the Vet ER immediately where he underwent surgery that was extremely successful. He has been healing well since the surgery and has a good prognosis for a full and and healthy life!
I am raising money to cover his initial ER costs (which I currently have on a payment plan) and costs for his follow up vets visits listed below. Lemmy is being taken on by Here Kitty Kitty Cat Rescue who will be covering future costs, and he will be available for adoption once he gets a clean bill of health from the vet.
Costs:
12/17 - $5396.31 - Intitial ER Visit, surgery and treatment (Currently on a payment plan via Scratchpay that must be paid in fullwithin 6months to avoid interest)
12/22 - $857.00 - Follow-up visit for drain removal, treatment and bandaging of rear leg and culture of infection (Paid with personal credit card)
12/24 - $379.52 - First bandage change and refill of meds @ Veterinary Emergency Group (Paid with personal credit card)
12/26 - $353.80 - Second bandage change and removal of shoulder blade stitches @ Art City Vets (Paid w/ CareCredit)
12/30 - $163.10 - Third bandage change @ Art City Vets (Paid w/ CareCredit)
1/2 - $72.25 - Removal of bandage and remaining stitches @ Art City Vets (Paid w/ CareCredit)
Total as of last vet visit: $7221.98
Prior to the GoFundMe, I received $800 total in donations through Venmo, making a difference of ~$6400 which I have made as the fundraising target here.
