Dear friends, family and to those reading this GoFundMe who may not even know Lela, we want to thank you for taking the time to read this. We are grateful to you and hope that you can help Lela in her time of need.
For the last 30 years, Lela Kudritzki has spent almost 18 hours a day, volunteering her time and energy, networking and collecting donated medical supplies and distributing them across the globe. Lela mostly shipped these supplies to a very large non-profit hospital in South India. Lela also sent medical supplies to Haiti during the Earthquake in 2010 and the hurricane in Venezuela in 2017 during their time of need.
Her main mission; to make sure doctors, nurses, medical staff and other medical workers have the supplies needed to help patients get the best medical care possible.
In the year of 2020, Lela’s health took a turn. She started to fall down in confusion. Soon after a major health scare, Lela was admitted to the hospital. Her team of doctors discovered that Lela was starting to show signs of dementia.
Fast forward 5 years, Lela’s dementia has progressed and her symptoms have worsened. Lela has been receiving amazing in-home care 7 days a week for quite some time now, but she is quickly running out of money from her savings to cover the cost of her care. Lela receives Social Security, however it’s only enough to cover her food and rent.
Prior to volunteering, Lela worked hard as a teacher. She saved up enough money to make sure her future would be in good hands. Lela never anticipated that her funds would run out.
Most unfortunately, Lela now has less than two months of funds left before she will be placed in a facility and displaced from her home, familiar surroundings and the familiar loving community of people she has known as family for these last 30 years.
For this reason, we are reaching out to you and asking if you can help support this GoFundMe for Lela. Anything you donate matters and helps her so much!
We are asking for $20k. Your donation will allow Lela to continue receiving around the clock care from her amazing and loving caregiver. Your donation will also make it possible for Lela to stay surrounded by familiar loving faces, in her loving home and familiar settings in Castro Valley.
Lela is truly one of the most humble, selfless and dedicated women we know. Her greatest joy and biggest passion was making sure those in need received the things needed for their care, treatment and quality of life.
Please help us to help Lela in her time of need. She is so worthy and so needed of this support!
Thank you for your time and consideration. We appreciate anything you can give at this time. ❤️
With so much gratitude to you,
