Hello, I'm Leila Kingman. I'm 26 years old and this is my story.

My mum is currently undergoing treatment for cancer. I initially had the idea of donating my hair to her, as her daughter, I feel it's the least I could do after all of what she's done for me! She has always told me "what lovely hair you have". She always used to try and dye her hair blonde, but it would always come out "wrong" as she put it. This way, I thought she could literally have my hair!

However, my mums particular treatment of chemotherapy, does not result in total hair loss. The trouble is, I am an 'all or nothing' kind of girl. I had it in my head I was going to do something, and so something had to be done!

The doctor my mum spoke with advised me to get in touch with the Little Princess Trust. I phoned my hairdresser the next day and said "get a tape measure, if my hair is long enough, we're doing this!"
