Hi my name is Mayra and I have started this fundraiser for the surviving daughters (Desteny 27 and Leilani 8) of my childhood friend Violet Luvian who tragically lost her life while traveling in Mexico for the Christmas holiday. On December 20 after only being in Mexico for 3 days, her and her daughter were in a horrible accident with a semi truck, Violet was pronounced dead at the scene. Her daughter Lailani (8 yr old) was transferred to a trauma hospital and is currently in an induced coma, her injuries include a cracked skull, swelling of the brain, both legs, pelvis and several bones on her face are broken. Leilani and Desteny have a long recovery ahead of them. Leilani will need several reconstructive surgeries and physical therapy. Today her grandmother advised me that Leilani will be undergoing surgery of the head there in Guadalajara, Mexico.

These girls have lost their mom, their sole provider and are now faced to deal with the trauma and injuries on their own. They have always been a real close trio and had a great relationship. Desteny is now left to care for her little sister not only financially but will have to be the caregiver through her recuperation, while still attempting to process and mourn her mothers sudden and tragic death.

The money raised will be used to assist the family cover burial costs, medical bills, the cost to transporting her back into the states and any other expenses that may come up during the recovery.
