Leila and Gord Need Our Help!

Hello everyone,

My name is Mim, and I’ve been a close friend of Leila and Gord since 2009. I’ve watched them work so hard to build a life they both love. As Leila turned 60 this August, they celebrated everything-a wonderful group of friends, a home on Bowen, and of course Bark Pet Care, a business they have nurtured through dedication and hard work since 2006.

A couple of weeks later, their world turned upside down when Leila was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer.

As you can imagine, this has been devastating. Physically, emotionally, and of course, financially. As cancer and chemotherapy took their toll, Leila had to step back from the pack walks she loved so much. Now, Gord needs to stay home and take care of Leila. The costs have been mounting, and although Leila has so far been too proud to ask for help, she has now given me permission to reach out with this GoFundMe.

Funds will be used to cover their ongoing bills and mortgage payments, any treatments and medications not covered by MSP that will make Leila more comfortable, and to help with debt they have incurred in the months Leila has been unable to work.

So please, let’s show Leila and Gord that we have their backs as they endure this profoundly difficult time.
