Hello everyone,
One of our best family friends and friend to many of you is Leigh Bolton. Leigh has just been diagnosed with an advanced form of breast cancer; something she knew may happen, but was convinced would pass her by. She is starting an aggressive chemo therapy at Hopkins which will dramatically impact her family, who has already been through a lot. Leigh works hard at her job, and often gives extra hours because she is so very conscientious.
The cost of the chemotherapy at Hopkins is terribly expensive, and is not fully covered by Leigh’s healthcare benefits. As you can already surmise, she needs our help to offset the expenses that may save her life. We estimate she will need at least $5000.
She will not be able to do her job as well as in the past, because, as many of you know, chemo is very debilitating. Additionally, Leigh and Nelson have given a labor of love to Raincliffe, a beautiful, yet drafty and old historic home in Sykesville that requires a lot of money just to keep slightly warm in a moderate winter. But now, with her chemo, Leigh is especially vulnerable to other illnesses, and needs a warm cozy home to stay healthy.
After all, her oncologist said, “ chemo is bad enough!”
We need at least $4000 to fill the oil tank and heat the house until the weather improves, so any contributions to pay for heating oil would be appreciated!
In conclusion, Leigh is looking to all of us to help her through this difficult time. The cost of health care and family care seems overwhelming to her, but with the help of all of us, will be taken care of through love.
Leigh helped me when I faced Breast Cancer…and survived! Now it’s my turn to help her! Your contributions will be greatly appreciated. Nina Tracey
