Hi everyone, it’s David and Tracey, we are parents to Leigha and are asking for help to get her to the WKU WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS in Germany in October 2025.

Leigha has been training in karate for 8 years now and has thrived during this time. She in now 16 years old so was quite young when she started.

Since joining her local karate school, Lichfield Sport Karate Club she has won many medals and titles, and has progressed to 1st Dan Black Belt, she represented England at the world championships in Austria 2019 and came home with a bronze. Again in 2022 she was selected for the squad for the championships in Wales and came home with a world title, Leigha was selected but unable to attend the championships in 2023 due to it being in Canada and the cost was just too much. She then went on to get selected again last year and represented England in Greece, she entered not only kumite and kata she also for the first time entered weapons at world level. She didn’t win any world titles but won 3rd place in her freestyle weapons which was a fantastic achievement along with a silver in traditional weapons and 2 bronze, 1 for team kata and 1 for kumite. Earlier this month (May) leigha entered the British Open Championships and came home British Open Champion numerous times by taking 6 Golds and 1 Silver after entering 7 categories. Leigha is very committed to her training and trains 3 times per week and also now assists with the youngest members of her club 3 times a week helping train them and give back her knowledge she has gained over the last 8 years and she also coaches and helps all the younger students and others during all the competitions she enters.

leigha has been selected this year and we would love her to be able to go.

All competitions are completely self funded and for the world championships she needs to try and raise funds for, flights to Germany, hotel, kits, licences, category entries and insurances. As you can imagine this is a lot to try and find.
