Leighannes fight against Lung Adenocarcinoma
Donation protected
I am devastated to be typing this, and I never imagined having to make a go fund me.. and for my sister at that. Days before Christmas, Leighanne had be having a bad cough finding herself coughing up some blood which led her to the ER. There they thought she had a bad case of bronchitis with broken capillaries in her throat. Luckily by chance they decided to do a chest x-ray before letting her leave and thought they saw a blood clot in her lung, which led to a CT scan which ended up showing a mass that was 6cm X 5.5cm pushing against windpipe and a large blood vessel. After finding this brought a lengthy hospital stay and countless doctors appointments daily with no end sight.
This diagnosis has been a shock to our family and even the doctors for being an otherwise healthy (almost) 40 year old fiancee, sister, daughter, and mom. With the size of the mass, and its' location doctors are advising her to take it easy and not over exert, causing her to be off work until further notice.
Cancer not only takes a toll on a person’s physical health but can also pose huge financial challenges. We have created this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds that will help Leighanne and Doug navigate the financial burdens associated with this medical journey. Funds will be used for medical treatments not covered by insurance, hospital stays, clinical trials, family travels for live in care, and other unforeseen expenses. They will go directly to the astronomical out-of-pocket costs they are suddenly faced with during their upcoming battle to save Leighanne's life.
Thank you for reading this & being here. Your generosity and kindness will not only provide financial relief but will also serve as a beacon of hope for them and their family. Thank you for your support to Leighanne, Doug and Jordan during this challenging time.
