Friends:
It almost goes without saying that 2016 has been a hard year for everyone, both in the grander scheme, and on very personal levels. So it's with a heavy heart, and a lot of humility, that Greg and I are reaching out to our friends for some help.
As most of you know, Greg has been (at my insistence) getting in to see doctors about some chronic health concerns and as a result has been referred to FOUR specialists. His deductible is very high, and we are endeavoring to be creative with funding and applying for patient assistance programs, but the co-pays and procedure bills are adding up. Greg posted a couple months ago that his MRI showed a cyst on his pituitary gland, which we are following up on. What we haven't shared is a surprise finding on the CT scan following his car accident at work a few weeks ago; which are several nodules on his lungs. They could be nothing, or they could be very bad, but either way, a biopsy will be necessary, and further surgery if they turn out to be problematic.
The workman's comp claim for Greg's car accident is stuck in process right now, so we are feeling the strain very hard financially.
My health is also not good, which is nothing new, but my RA, fibromyalgia, as-yet-undiagnosed back problems, severe carpal tunnel, and crippling major depressive disorder have been an ever-increasing problem. I have had to go on leave without pay a few times in the last few months. I have a lot of new medications and doctor's visit copays, as well as expensive car repairs looming on the horizon which I can't put off much longer. I literally feel like I'm drowning, and see no shore in the distance.
Long story short, (too late!) we are struggling, hard, and I know most of you are too, so I can't even begin to describe how much I hate having to ask for anyone's help, but we need this medical care, it's non-negotiable. We are quickly approaching the horizon of choosing whether to eat or get meds, to pay rent, or see the doctor. So, swallowing all of my pride, I humbly ask you for whatever you can spare. A couple bucks? Or just a share and your good vibes? Hell, just the good vibes are so very appreciated.
Love you all. Stay sane during these holidays, and hug your loved ones close.
