On Friday, June 21st, Don and Leigh Ann (Peffen) Zirkle were relaxing on their screen porch at their home on Cherokee Rd, when a strange man appeared, asked for directions, and then savagely and brutally stabbed them multiple times. Don Zirkle was killed. Leigh Ann is in critical condition at Vanderbilt after several surgeries and numerous medical procedures, but getting stronger each day.
This tragedy has and will continue to tear Leigh Ann’s world apart leaving her without her husband, astronomical medical bills and emotional and physical rehabilitation for the long term.
It is time for us as Nashvillians to do what we do best; help our neighbor.
