Hello! This is Leia. We found her on the streets in January. When we found her, she was battling a bacterial eye infection. We tried to do everything in our power to save her eye with countless visits to the eye doctor and a rigorous routine of eye drops and medicine, but it was too late. Her eye ruptured and had to be removed at her small age of 4 months. Despite all the odds, we noticed she felt immediately better after her eye was removed, and we felt like she was doing better health-wise until she wasn’t.

A few months later, while trying to get Leia her vaccines, we went to the vet for what we thought was an upper respiratory infection, only to find out she has a diaphragmatic hernia and potentially has polyps or other breathing complications that need to be addressed at the same time as her hernia surgery. All of these medical expenses are looking roughly around $8,000. We’ve had her for a short amount of time and want to give her the world. She’s the sweetest, shy little lady. She only weighs 4.5 pounds and loves to play with her toy springs. She is a part of our family, and we couldn’t imagine our days without her.
