Reviews for House of Verlaine:
"House of Verlaine could very well be the next big thing in both the burlesque and dance scene” -Seattle Dances

Histoire de Melody Nelson, an original ballet conceived by Lily Verlaine (nom de scene of Rachel Gourd) based on the music of Serge Gainsbourg.
“successfully broadened the definition of what can constitute ballet with revealing costumes and movement ranging from suggestive to explicit. Melody Nelson perfectly captures Gourd’s impulse to make erotic ballet, and shows how the format can work.” Anna Waller. “Sexy New Ballet at House of Verlaine.” Rev. of L’Edition Noire, dir. Rachel Gourd. Seattle Dances 15 May 2015.

Can-Can du Maison Verlaine, a spin on a traditional can-can with men and women wearing brightly colored can-can skirts, women partnering women, men partnering men and 137 high kicks.
“the whimsical Can-Can du Maison Verlaine where they once again proved that they can certainly dance. There were all the things one would expect from a can-can like ruffled skirts, splits and high kicks… 137 of them to be exact. But there were also a few things that you might not expect like men in heels doing backflips. RuPaul would be so proud! The high-energy choreography, excitement and a few squeals from the performers had the audience begging for more.” Ross Cornell. “Pasties & Pirouettes: Ballet Meets Burlesque in House of Verlaine’s Nightcap.” Rev. of L’Edition Noire, dir. Rachel Gourd. Seattle Gay Scene 12 May 2015.
