Hello, my name is Kris and my girlfriend is Kaity. We are looking for some help for our dog Kimber's surgery. Kimber is just over 2 years old and she is our oldest of 2 dogs. She is an AMAZING older sister to Kloe and they would be lost without each other. Kimber is in desperate need of surgery on both rear cruciate ligaments (ACL) as well as both patellae. She has a disease called luxating patella in both of her rear legs – which means that her knee caps sometimes dislocate. This led to both of her cruciate ligaments (ACL) becoming torn. She has already developed bone spurs and arthritis that is quickly progressing. She needs 4 surgeries and without them she will lose rear leg function and be in a lot of pain by the age of 4. This would mean no more family hiking trips, running with mom, playing fetch, swimming or any of her other favorite hobbies. We took Kimber in for her x-ray early this month thinking she had only one torn CCL. The vet informed us that not only did she have both CCLs torn, but she also had luxating patella. We cannot afford 4 surgeries, as I am in my last year of undergrad before pharmacy school and work only part time. My girlfriend Kaity works full time and part time so we can make ends meet. Kimber has been walking on three legs for a little over 3 months now, and it is only getting worse. This precious girl of ours was our first 4 legged child and has a younger sister who adores her. They are attached at the hip and inseparable. Our girl has too much life left for us to not exhaust every opportunity we can find to help with her surgery. All donations go towards her surgeries, and we intend to cover whatever is not raised if we fall short. We love our girls, and are torn seeing her in so much pain. We couldn’t imagine a life without her in it, our family just wouldn’t be whole. We would greatly appreciate any help, thank you so much for your time and kindness.
