Thank you to everyone who has donated, we have had some very generous family, friends, and strangers help and offer to help and it is very appreciated!
Right now we are just trying to catch up after vet costs, which currently stand at about $1200 including the initial $500 ER vet visit.
Legolas was born in a friend’s empty chicken coop sometime in mid to late May. Around the end of June a wild animal (probably a raccoon) attacked the coop they were in and got our little guy’s arm. He was taken to a safer location where he was already walking around and eating normally a few hours later. I got him and took him to the vet and the rest is history (I thought of the name Legolas and decided to keep him).
Legolas has a cat brother named Aragorn who my boyfriend has had since 2019. He’s been an only cat since then but he’s adjusting to having a sibling pretty well.
UPDATE 7/24: Legolas is doing great! His last vet visit was over a week ago and they said he didn’t have to come in any more to get his bandage changed, that it was healed enough we could do it at home (or go without one but we’re being safe and keeping it covered for now). He has been very active and we slowly introduced him to our other cat and they have started playing with each other (it’s very cute!). He will go back in about a week or so for his first shots and whatnot!
