Hi, my name is Errin Williams. I am a good friend of Irish's, and I want to let you know that Irish was involved in a serious accident on October 16th while they were on tour in Canada. This injury was so severe that Irish was forced to cancel two shows prior to their tour ending in Canada. And as anyone who knows Irish, they would know that this was terribly hard for them to do.
Irish suffered a severe burn injury to their hand and forearm. As a full-time touring musician, Irish’s hands are their livelihood, and this injury means they will be unable to perform or work for the next few months while they face a painful recovery process.
They have been seen by specialists both in Canada and in their new home, Denmark. The doctors have told Irish that they will heal and after treatments and physiotherapy they should be able to return to performing. Doctors are unsure how long this will take.
If you know Irish, you know their music—and their presence—are larger than life. Their beautiful songs and voice have filled stages across the world, from Glastonbury to the East Coast Music Awards, and their songs have brought laughter, tears, and goosebumps to audiences far and wide. But beyond the spotlight, Irish is the first to show up for others—advocating for community, justice, and kindness wherever they go.
Now, it’s our turn to show up for Irish!
While Irish is surrounded by love and support, like almost all artists they have no safety net to fall back on. As an independent artist, they do not have access to employment benefits, paid leave, or insurance coverage to support themselves in recovery. Your donation will go directly toward helping Irish focus on healing—without the additional stresses that financial uncertainty would create.
Your donation will go directly to Irish and support their living and medical expenses while they heal. Let's show up for Irish as they would show up for us if the situation was reversed.
Thank you so much for reading this and your gift of support and well wishes.
