Stand With Us for Religious Freedom
A federal judge did something rare: she ruled that a small Utah faith's beliefs are sincere and its worship deserves protection.
That faith is Singularism. In Jensen v. Utah County, the federal court granted a preliminary injunction protecting our religious practice. The court also issued an anti-suit injunction and denied the government's motion to dismiss. Harvard Law School's Petrie-Flom Center wrote about the case and highlighted the "existential humility" at the heart of our faith.
Now we have asked the full Tenth Circuit to rehear our case, and we are prepared to ask the United States Supreme Court to hear it if needed, to confirm that religious freedom protects every sincere faith, not just familiar ones.
What we're raising funds for
Every dollar funds the legal costs of Jensen v. Utah County: our request for the full Tenth Circuit to rehear the case, the next stage at the trial court, and, if needed, a petition to the U.S. Supreme Court, including attorney fees, required printing and filing, and amicus briefs from allied organizations. Our goal is $90,000. No funds will be used for ceremonies, sacrament, or operations. This campaign supports only the legal case, led by attorney Tanner Bean.
