Immigration Lawyer Help

Donation protected
My stepfather was recently detained by ICE agents during a work boat trip to Alaska as a fisherman. He recently got diagnosed with diabetes and is struggling to receive his medication while he’s in the detention center. I’m trying to raise funds in order to help get an immigration lawyer in order to help us figure out the situation. All donations will go straight to help fight for him.
UPDATE: Juan Carlos has been officially processed and is being held at the Tacoma, WA detention center. After the initial consult with his lawyer, we were informed that he could either appeal his case, which would require him to wait in the detention center for up to 7-8 months without the guarantee that he wouldn’t be deported (at the price of $7,000 for legal representation). The other option would be for him to start a self-deportation process, aided by his lawyer to make that process as quick as possible for $3,000. Taking into consideration that the majority of people appealing currently are not being successful in beating their case, as well as the horrifying conditions of these detention centers where he is still not being given consistent access to his medications, the option to self-deportation is becoming a reality.
The goal amount has been raised to reflect the updated target to get Juan Carlos the legal help he needs.
