My name is Hollie Kirk, and I’m raising funds to help my brother, Zach Hawkins, afford an attorney so he can fight for custody of his children.

Due to a volatile situation with the childrens mother, Zach assumed physical custody of his three children at the beginning of November 2025. Until that time, Zach never intended to pursue custody. He wanted the children to remain with their mother and believed that was best for everyone. However, recent events raised serious concerns about the children’s wellbeing and safety, and his instinct as a father kicked in. His focus now is simple: protect his children and give them a safe, stable life.

Since taking physical custody of the children, Zach has:

Rented a 3-bedroom home in Bardstown

Made sure each child has their own bed and space

Enrolled them in a quality daycare with learning and enrichment programs

Caught them up on immunizations and well-child visits as they were behind

Created routines and stability the kids hadn’t had before

The children are thriving with structure, consistency, and basic stability—things every child deserves.

No one is trying to permanently remove the children from their mother out of spite. The goal is to ensure the children are safe and stable, and to allow time for their mother to heal and get support so she can one day be healthy and consistent for them. This is about protecting children—not punishing anyone.

This situation has escalated into a legal battle, and unfortunately, Zach does not have the financial resources to properly defend himself in family court. He is working, paying rent, providing for the children, and doing everything he can—but legal representation is expensive, and without it, he risks losing custody simply because he can’t afford to fight.

Zach has had a difficult past. He made mistakes in earlier years, and he takes full responsibility for that. What matters today is who he is now. Zach has closed the door on his former life and worked incredibly hard to rebuild himself. I am incredibly proud of of the man he’s become. He’s doing everything he can to take care of his children. He just needs help covering legal fees so he can protect his kids in court.
