We are raising funds to support a legal action aimed at protecting our deed-restricted parks and ensuring the POA Board follows the governing documents. This is not a lawsuit against neighbors — it is a necessary step to restore transparency, safeguard property rights, and protect the community we all love.
Over the past year, we have repeatedly asked the Board for documentation and transparency, explanations for dock permits filed without notice, clarification on shifting parcel classifications, and justification for spending reserve funds on unapproved projects. We tried every non-legal path available — emails, written requests, in-person conversations, petitions, and formal communications. None of these efforts led to meaningful answers or corrective action. We obtained an attorney and provided the Board with a formal letter outlining our concerns and requests.
We did not set out to lead this effort. We simply happened to be the homeowners who first became aware that changes to the parks and the use of reserve funds were moving forward without notice to the membership. We love this neighborhood. We chose North River Shores because of the parks, the water, and the sense of community — and we planned to raise our family here. We didn’t step forward because we wanted conflict; we did so because decisions affecting everyone were moving forward without clear authority or approval, and we felt a responsibility to seek clarity for the good of the entire neighborhood. Everything we are doing is to protect what makes North River Shores special — not disrupt it.
Any contribution — large or small — supports the legal effort needed to protect our parks, ensure our governing documents are followed, and safeguard property rights for every owner. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page is just as helpful. Thank you for standing with North River Shores and helping protect the community we all love.
