Legal Fund For 17 yr old brutalized By MPD

Donation protected
A 17-year-old West High School student was having a mental wellness crisis. He posed no threat according to the police report released by the Madison Police Department.   The young man was not doing well mentally which was apparent by his behavior according to school staff and the police officer assigned to West High School.  The young man left school and went home. The school police officer dispatched multiple officers to his home. The video posted above is what pursued when the young man came downstairs to grab his phone and was headed back upstairs to grab his socks.

Per his guardian, he was cooperative and posed no threat to the officer(s) when they grabbed the 17-year-old and threw him against the wall as he was walking past. The video explains it all.  The young boy was then punched in the head 3X and passed out from the blows to his head.

Madison Police Department is threatening to charge the 17-year-old with criminal charges. They have yet to file any charges. However, in order to protect the young man, the community has secured an attorney to represent him and to invoke his right to counsel.

Strang and Bradley Law Firm of Madison WI have been retained to represent the young man.  All proceeds from the GoFund will be deposited directly into a trust via the law firm.   Any leftover funds will be returned to the organizer and placed in the community support services funds to be used to support similar needs of families in Madison WI.
