My name is Alexandra. Most people online know me for my weightlifting, baking, or musing, though unfortunately, I am writing this today from the vulnerable position of being a victim of an ongoing stalking and cyber-harassment case.

I am raising funds to cover urgent legal expenses relating to a civil harassment restraining order case. Over the last three months, a former acquaintance has been relentlessly targeting me, to the point where it has become evident that I must proceed with legal action to protect the safety of myself, as well as my family.

Currently, this individual is posting about me every few minutes, day and night. These posts publicly reveal my full legal name, the street where my family lives, my personal phone number, and identifying details about my family Many contain explicit sexual fantasies involving me and delusions that we are married, living together, or destined to meet on a specific date. He has also threatened to come to my home if I do not meet him. The speed and intensity of these posts, combined with his escalating fixation, have left me feeling frightened and unsafe in my own life.

This period of my life is already a big transition for me in my career, and unfortunately, this issue has taken up a lot of time, stress, and coordinated effort to ensure I am protected. Being targeted in such an obsessive manner is deeply frightening, particularly when also considering the many hurdles others go through when seeking protection through the court system. It is difficult to explain the impact to those who have not gone through situations like this themselves, but my mental and physical health has been on the decline as I try to cope with the nonstop anxiety and hypervigilance that this situation has forced me into.

I once considered this person a friend, and as much as I am saddened by what is clearly an ongoing mental health crisis, I have become fearful for my safety given their demonstrated unpredictable state and their personal knowledge of my life and location.

My hearing is in under three weeks, where I am hoping to secure a permanent restraining order so I can continue my life peacefully. It appears that, particularly given the very online nature of my harassment, legal representation gives me the best shot at securing safety through the court system.

At the advice of many friends, I am opening this GoFundMe (and swallowing my pride...) to help with the costs associated with securing a lawyer's help. Funding this on a teacher's salary is unnerving, but the situation has gotten to the point where preserving my security is essential.
