Legal Fees for Defending a Lawsuit

Donation protected

Hello everyone, my Name is Uche Onyeyiri. I am the owner of Angelo’s Garden a wedding venue that has been in operation for 3 years. Recently due to the Global Pandemic, we have had to face the real prospect of loss of business. We are asking for donations to fight a lawsuit against us even though we have gone over and beyond to assist every one of our clients in these difficult times.

Since the start of the pandemic, We have had to reschedule over 30 weddings, have had several cancellations and endured loss of financial income as a result. However, we diligently worked with every single client, giving them new dates and catering to their needs using constrained financial resources. Our wedding dates are assets, once we book a wedding we lose that asset, as a result having to move over 30 weddings to new, un-booked dates led to a significant loss in our assets. However, we did it in good faith, as a way to uphold the reality that #weareallinthistogether.

I’m currently being unjustly sued by someone, who intends to repudiate the terms of our contract, and due to the nature of the case and attorney client privilege, I unfortunately cannot disclose details of the law suit at this time. Although it would be easier for me to settle this case and cut my losses, I realized that there are so many other businesses who may be facing the same fate during this pandemic times and I want to not only fight this for my business, but for other businesses in similar situations. Loosing this lawsuit would mean that any deposit for services can be challenged in court, and lead to the proverbial death of contractual deposits.

During this pandemic, we have all been victims, and as business owners who do not have huge financial backings, and funds readily available for lawsuits, we are being forced to be double victims. I intend on using these funds to supplement my personal funds in paying my legal representatives. If there is any left over funds, I intend on reserving the funds for donation to any other business that faces the same fate during this global pandemic and recession.

I know these are tough times and asking for donations at a time like this could be a tall order, but I am grateful and honored for any donation small or big, and will continue to be an upstanding citizen and a steward for small businesses in the state of Arkansas, especially in the wedding industry. Please share this tory to your friends and family.

Thanks!
