Legal fees for Daryl Vickers

Hi, my name is Toby and I am raising funds for my dear friends Daryl Vickers and Brad Bentley.
This is going to sound crazy, because it is. On August 29th, Daryl was pulled over for a minor traffic violation. No big deal until the arresting officer told her she had a warrant for her arrest from 2013. She was placed under arrest and immediately sent to jail. She and Brad had to hire a lawyer and post bail so Daryl could return to her family and work.
Here's where the warrant comes in (also crazy!). In September 2013, working her second job as a cocktail waitress at the Neurolux, Daryl was followed to her car by 2 officers after her shift. They employed "proactive policing" and knocked on the window as soon as she had gotten into her car. Her things were searched and, unfortunately, a very "kind" bar patronage had left one Adderall as a tip in her cash. One hidden Adderall in a stack of bills, unbeknownst to Daryl but found by the officer. After questioning her, they let her go home, as they should have, without a citation or any further information. A warrant for her arrest was issued for felony possession of a controlled substance in 2015, without Daryl being served notice. She had NO IDEA.
Like everyone, she's been pulled over for speeding, has been rear-ended, and has had normal interactions with the police in the intervening years. Not once, in any of those interactions, has an office made her aware of the warrant--so you can imagine her shock when, almost 10 years later, she was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
If you know Daryl, you know this is not in line with her as a person. Daryl is co-owner, coach, and mentor at Process Jiu-Jitsu, a business she and Brad have spent the last year building on top of various second jobs to help keep the family financially secure. She is a mom of 3 wonderful kids: a toddler and two sweet, respectful teens. She works hard every single day and motivates her Process Jiu-Jitsu clients to do the same. She is one of the sunniest, nicest, most generous people I've ever known.
This turn of events is placing a huge unexpected financial burden on her and her family. Daryl intends to fight the charges but that will come with $8,000 in lawyers fees. If you are able and feel inclined to donate to help alleviate some of this stress, Daryl and her family would be grateful. Her main focus is being able to be there for her kids as well as in the gym building her community and business.
