Don protégé
Hello,
We have retained an attorney to represent South Eliseo Neighborhood Alliance to challenge the CEQA Exemption for 1251 S. Eliseo Drive in Greenbrae. Please donate in tranches as the legal bills grow. As you can imagine, we do not want extra funds as it will be too difficult to return. The estimated legal fees could cost around $160,000. The initial fee is $10,000.
In February, the Board of Supervisors accepted Project Homekey funds from the State to purchase 1251 S. Eliseo Drive in Greenbrae. Across the State, communities are rallying together to oppose these sites. Our community is no different. For the past several months, community members have come together in opposition. We have canvased surrounding areas, raising awareness, peacefully protesting, speaking at the Board of Supervisor and City of Larkspur meetings, attending the Project Homekey forums, Local Law Enforcement, contacting the Board of Supervisors, City of Larkspur Town Council, Local School Boards, Marin County Office of Education, and other California Representatives including the Governors office. We created a Change.org petition which has over 2,700 signatures (https://www.change.org/p/keep-our-children-safe-by-stopping-the-homeless-facility-next-to-playground-and-schools).
Despite everyones efforts, the Board of Supervisors did not listen to their constituents. As a result, our GRASSROOTS efforts have retained legal representation to prevent this.
The funds raised on this page will be used to fully support this legal effort.
