My name is Priscilla, and I am reaching out to share a deeply personal journey and to ask for your support in a cause that means the world to me. I am a mother fighting for the legal custody of my eldest son, Tyler, and striving to keep my boys together, providing Tyler with the closest thing he can get to a nuclear family.

In 2016, I had the privilege of meeting Tyler when he was just 5 years old. His dad, the love of my life, was a single father Tyler’s entire life until I came in the picture.

Then, in 2017, he began calling me mom. Since then, I have raised him as my own and our bond has been very strong.

In 2020, my late husband and I welcomed another son, Leon, whom Tyler adored from the moment they met. Tyler lived with his dad from infancy to 5 years old and then my husband and I for the rest of his life so far.

Since my entrance into Tyler’s life, I have enrolled Tyler into schools, helped with homework, taken him to dentist/doctor/therapist appointments, been team mom, cheered loudly at all of his baseball games when he was in it, wiped tears, laughed, attended all parent/teacher conferences, etc.

Tragically, my husband passed away suddenly in mid-2022, leaving me with the responsibility of ensuring Tyler's legal future. We had filed for adoption, and my husband was fully supportive, signing in favor of the adoption. The trial for the adoption was set for September 2022, but fate had other plans.

"She was always there when he needed a mom...when I saw them together, I knew it was meant to be," said my husband to the adoption investigator in October 2021.

Despite the challenges, I pressed forward. In June 2022, with the help of a generous initial donation through a GoFundMe campaign, I covered the initial $2,500 in legal fees. In July 2022, a private party donated $10,000 towards our cause. After a year and a half of fighting, the trial has been scheduled for April 2024. Unfortunately, the previous amounts have been exhausted, and I now find myself in yet another difficult financial position.

The $10,500 required for the remaining legal proceedings is huge financial hardship. This is where your support becomes invaluable. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will make a significant impact in ensuring that Tyler can continue to grow up with the only mother he has ever known and that my boys can stay together as a family, giving Tyler the closest thing he can get to a nuclear family.
