On Thursday, I have to appear in Hudson County Court in Jersey City to answer charges that I cyberharassed and ethnically intimidated a member of the Council of Conservative Citizens that just so happens to be a public defender in that town. This all stems from the article I have written that details his associations. Nothing is false about it, and the facts are corroborated by other articles from other publications, but this is all that has been done in regards to him.
Last month, I got the notice to appear in court. The ethnic intimidation charge, according to the summons, comes from me using the words "White" and "Italian". I can't even tell you in what context this was used in.
Now, I have dealt with this kind of nonsense before, and normally it gets tossed out, and to be honest I do believe that will happen here too. But given the political climate, not to mention the fact that it has gone this far and that he works in the damned court system I have to appear in, I absolutely cannot take any chances. Without getting into it too much, he has already hurt a source of income simply by this filing.
But there's more to this. As I said before everything that I have written and said is factual about him. He is attempting to prevent me and others from talking about him, and neo-fascists (who are always talking about THEIR freedom of speech, by the way) should not be allowed to use the court system to silence those who use their rights to speak publicly on what concerns them. There has been several times when I have seen this crowd try to do just that and they have been able to scare a lot of people off with stunts like this. This cannot stand.
I have been talking with attorneys, and I am definitely going to need help with legal fees. To the end, if you can help, it will be appreciated!
