Legal costs to fight proposed CST merger

We are parents, carers, and concerned members of the community launching this campaign to raise funds for legal costs to challenge the proposed merger of Cathedral Primary School (CPS) and Hotwells Primary School.

This merger would have a profound and lasting impact on both school communities, and we believe it is being pursued without proper consultation, due diligence, or regard for the unique needs of our children.

We are deeply concerned about:

• The lack of meaningful consultation with parents, staff, and the wider community

• The educational disruption for pupils, particularly for those with SEND or additional needs

• The changes to admissions which means that places at BCCS are uncertain and the whole CPS culture will change

• The potential legal flaws in the process, including failure to follow statutory duties under the DfE’s guidance on school reorganisation.

Your donations will go directly toward:

• Legal advice from experienced education and public law solicitors and barristers

• A possible judicial review of the merger process if breaches are found

• Protecting the voices of children, families, and staff who deserve to be heard

If we do not meet our target or if legal advice is no longer necessary ALL donations will be REFUNDED!!
