Reunite Otto with his Sister and Brother

Everyone who really knows me, knows my brother Otto, who is mentally handicapped. Otto lives in an assisted living apartment at Maple Village apartments in Southgate, but I do not know his apartment number or phone number due to my now deceased mother’s unwillingness to let us see him for the past 9 years. We recently found out that Otto’s guardianship was changed from my brother Al and I to my sister in law when searching the internet. Neither of us were made aware of this change due to family estrangement. The legal notice was posted in the Detroit Legal News in 2015, stating that our “whereabouts were unknown”even though my estranged family members knew exactly where we lived, as well as our phone numbers. No notification was ever sent to us. I reached out to the service that manages my brother’s housing and daily care, and was told they would need to get permission from my sister in law for me to visit. My “Christian” sister in law advised the service that only “family” is permitted to see him and has denied visitation. We need to hire a probate attorney to assist with going to court to ask a judge to grant us permission to see Otto. Why should Otto be denied a relationship with his siblings? We just want to see our brother. And are not asking for anything else but to have him back in back in our lives. I’m asking for any monetary help, big or small, to assist with legal expenses, so Otto can be reunited with his sister and brother who love and miss him very much.
