Two teens forced into homelessness and separated from the safe, caring mother they want to go home to.

For more than ten years, a Roseville, MN mother and her two sons have been stuck in an unrelenting family court battle. The process has not brought stability. Instead, this family has faced a revolving door of judges, shifting directives, repeated hearings, and ongoing intervention from court-appointed professionals. The result is chronic instability, financial strain, and a system that has required them to repeatedly relitigate their lives.

Today, the situation has escalated. Two boys, ages 13 and 17 and attending RAMS and RAHS, have been forced into homelessness since October 2025.

For additional details on this situation:

The special master assigned to the case has attempted to force the teens to reconcile with their father. When the boys refused, the special master blamed their mother and found her in contempt for being unable to compel her teenage sons to want a relationship with him. As a result, the boys have been cut off from their mother because any contact could put her at risk of jail time.

It has been more than six months with no court date scheduled to review or relieve these conditions.

Their father has repeatedly stalked and followed them through the city. In April, when a trusted adult picked up the 13-year-old after extracurriculars, the father chased the car for more than ten minutes. Police had to intervene. He has also chased a school bus the 13-year-old was riding, driving recklessly in pursuit.

Children need safety, stability, and consistency to thrive.

After more than a decade of legal turmoil, the burden on these boys is not temporary. It is cumulative. They have been deprived of the basic security every child deserves. The financial toll on their mother has become unsustainable, and the emotional toll on the entire family is profound.
