Legal Aid for Pedro: Help Him Return to his Family!

On July 7th at 7:50AM, our neighbor Pedro Daniel Moreno was taken from Friday Harbor by ICE. He is currently in the Northwest Detention Center and in need of support from the community for legal fees, lost income, and mounting expenses.

Me dirijo a toda la comunidad de San Juan island para pedir ayuda para nuestro hijo, Pedro Daniel Moreno Magaña, con la edad de 22 años con origines de Mexico. Lllegó a este país en octubre del 2022 y desde que llegó a tenido buenos comportamientos, ha sido un hombre trabajador, responsable, un buen padre de familia y una buena persona con toda la sociedad. Lamentablemente, tuvo un proceso de separación con su ex pareja en diciembre del 2024, por el motivo de violencia doméstica de ella hacia el, en marzo del presente año, su ex pareja quiso contra atacar, culpándolo a Pedro injustamente por la misma acusación y poniendo orden de restricción, el contrato un abogado y logró limpiar su nombre. Al respecto a ello, llegaron a un acuerdo de custodia compartida de su hijo de 2 años de edad y todo iba normal hasta el día 7 de julio del presente año.

A las 7:50 am del 7 de Julio, el iba saliendo de su departamento hacía su trabajo como todos los días, al llegar a su vehículo le cerraron el paso dos vehículos con agentes de migración donde ya lo estaban esperando sin ninguna orden de arresto física. Los agentes de inmigración se lo llevaron, por lo cual nosotros estamos una alta sospecha de que alguien habló para entregarlo. El no a hecho ningún daño a la sociedad, ni a nadie por lo cual nosotros, sus padres estamos pidiendo su apoyo para todo este proceso, que son gastos muy fuertes, para así mismo se haga justicia. Pedimos todo el apoyo de la comunidad para que él regrese con su familia. Somos personas trabajadoras, no hacemos daño a la sociedad.

He is originally from Mexico, having arrived in this country in October 2022. Unfortunately he had a separation process with his ex-partner in December 2024, due to domestic violence from her towards him. In March of this year, she wanted to counterattack by unfairly blaming him for the same accusation and putting a restraining order against him. He contracted a lawyer and managed to clear his name. Regarding this they reached an agreement for shared custody of their 2-year-old son and everything was normal until July 7 of this year.

At 7:50 am of July 7th, Pedro was leaving his apartment to go to work, like every other day. when he got to his vehicle, two vehicles blocked his way with immigration agents, they were already waiting for him without any physical arrest warrant. The immigration agents took him away, which is why we strongly suspect that someone spoke up to hand him over. He has not done any harm to society or anyone, which is why we, his parents, are asking for your support for this entire process, which involves very high costs, so that justice may be done.
