Aim: Legal Action to challenge Harassment and Race Discrimination in UNISON.
Employers are using UNISON as a managerial control tool to organise and structure systemic racial discrimination at workplaces . Please click on the link below to see the shocking report exposed: (https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/drugs-racism-heath-hospital-live-31589372).
I have raised concerns about the increasing rise of racial discrimination complaints and allegations with the Welsh Government Minister and officials.
The Welsh Government were well aware of the complaints and allegations of the increasing number of racism since 2021. Please click on this link below to see the statistics, two third of Black Workers in the NHS Wales have experienced racism at work. https://cymru-wales.unison.org.uk/news/2020/12/two-thirds-black-nhs-wales-workers-experienced-racism-work/
Racial discrimination is getting worse now and that is why I am crowd funding to continue legal action against UNISON who are continuously trying to silence me.
Objectives: I am looking to raise £50,000 to help with my legal cost. UNISON have used Barrister and Solicitor in the Employment Tribunal (ET) Preliminary Hearing to try to silence me, but so far, they were unable to stop me calling-out racism.
Can you please help me? Your donation will help me to continue with the legal action against UNISON who are paying Barrister and Solicitor thousands of pounds to fight victims just like me who are genuinely bringing discrimination and harassment cases against them.
Who Am I?
My name is Kebba Manneh (former chair of UNISON National Black Members’ Committee - NBMC), I chaired the UNISON Race Discrimination Inquiry December 2024, and further information regarding the report findings and recommendations please click below: (https://www.unison.org.uk/content/uploads/2025/06/UNISON-RACE-DISCRIMINATION-INQUIRY-REPORT-DECEMBER-2024.pdf)
We (NBMC Chairs Group) received numerous race-based complaints and allegations against UNISON, working with Employers, Managers, hand in hand behind the scenes to brush racism under the carpet (email evidence). Thus, the UNISON Race Discrimination Inquiry December 2024 was initiated as well as this local report please click on the link below to see for yourself: (https://thebristolcable.org/2025/05/how-two-bristol-men-lifted-the-lid-on-their-union-unison-failures-tackle-race-discrimination/).
This inquiry would not have happened if it was not for the former UNISON President (Andrea Egan). She initially took numerous racial discrimination complaints and allegations to the National Executive Committee (NEC) - UNISON, on behalf of the NBMC Chairs Group for approval and eventually to secure the inquiry.
Andrea also took our request for the ‘Year of the Black Workers 2023’ to the NEC for approval. Please see the link below for further information about the year of the Black Workers. (https://www.unison.org.uk/content/uploads/2023/12/Black-Members-annual-report-2023-24.pdf.
Andrea has a proven track record of working with the NBMC and standing with Black Workers at the time of our needs.
The union and employers are paying thousands of pounds to KC’s (Barrister), and Solicitor in comparison to no Solicitor to fight on my behalf. There is no accountability for the Employers and UNISON acting with impunity. How can it be morally, and ethically right to keep quiet and do nothing about this gross unfairness of racial discrimination in UNISON ? There is no moral Justification.
Particularly, for those of us suffering discrimination in isolation, how can this be justified? It is a shameful abuse of UNISON members money.
The public sector continue to struggle for money, yet spends thousands of pounds, public monies paying for Barristers and Solicitors to defend poor management decisions which cannot be justified by any standards.
Perpetrating systemic, structural and biased institutional racism has been globally condemned by all lawful societies and it is utterly despicable and cowardly act.
