Hello, my name is Socorro Carranza and I am raising funds for the young ladies that are part of the Legacy Scholars. (Joselyn, Jacqueline, Yareli, Jhoseline, Alondra, and Alessadra). These young ladies have worked hard in school and some are ready to go to college soon. Let's help them take an adventure to see some college campuses!

What is the purpose of Legacy Scholars?

The purpose of Legacy Scholars is to help young high school students create a vision of a possible future through education and to mentor and guide them to get there.

What will they be doing?

The itinerary includes a campus tour of UC Davis, a campus tour of California State University San Francisco, visiting a previous Legacy Scholar to hear all about her college experience and a tour of her dorm at CSUSF, and a fun day at Great America. The dates will be March 24-26th (it's coming up!). The hope is that this experience will help the students visualize themselves in college and motivate them to reach for their goals and dreams.

How will the funds be used?

The money will be used for hotel stay for two nights, gas, and tickets for Great America with all-day meals (sprinkling in some extra fun).

I would like thank each one of you in advance for your contribution. I want to reiterate how a trip like this can change the trajectory of a life. It did for me! One very special person took me on a trip like this when I was in high school and that changed everything for me. That trip showed me the possibilities of what could be and the fact that someone was taking the time to do that told me "I believe in you". Just know that your contribution means the world to me and to each of the these students.

**Update: This trip has gotten more interest than initially anticipated from students at Tulelake high school. As you may have noticed, our goal has increased due to adding another student to the trip. Thank you again for your support! The young ladies are so excited to go!

¿Cuál es el propósito de Legacy Scholars?

El itinerario incluye un recorrido por el campus de UC Davis, un recorrido por el campus de California State University San Francisco, visitar a una ex estudiante Legacy Scholar para escuchar todo sobre su experiencia universitaria y un recorrido por su dormitorio en CSUSF, y un día divertido en Great America. La fecha es Marzo 24-26 (ya viene!). La esperanza es que esta experiencia ayude a los estudiantes a visualizarse en la universidad y a motivarlas a realizar sus metas y sueños.
