Jacquelyn Kay Cates Celebration of Life March 16, 1943 - August 17, 2020
At 77 years old my Mom left a legacy of giving and love that touch many lives through her Godly power of pray and giving heart! She had a special gift and calling for children's ministry as well as women's ministry, serving more than 50 years of her life teaching children's church and raising money and giving to causes that were raising up and lifting up children and Moms.
She would tell you that her childhood was not the "Beaver Cleaver Show" She had challenges as many of you that know her, would know from her life testimony! This life challenge gave her the heart to pour into kids and give them the love of God through her amazing gift. Some would call her the "child whisperer"! She had a way with kids that was an amazing light of God to witness! She was stern and loving all at the same moment. She was dedicated to many years of Wed. Night Rainbows teaching young hearts, she would not let them down and rarely missed a chance to teach children about God. She was an incredible artist and crafter! She used those skills to make the backdrops and costumes for many of the churches plays at almost every church she ever attended!
In order to continue her legacy and give tribute to the celebration of her life, we respectfully request that you join us in giving to 2 causes that were dear to her heart, Boys, and Girls Missionary Challenge and to Operation Christmas Shoe Boxes of Samaritan’s Purse.
Our family and friends would like to honor her LOVE of Christmas and children! She loved Christmas and the spirit of giving so much that we nicknamed her "Santa Mom" many years ago! She collected Santa clauses and they were a testament to her blessings to others. She loved to pour into children with God's word and peaceful spirit. With this in mind, we want to donate 100 Christmas boxes to Operation Christmas Shoe Box and a monetary donation to Boys and Girls Missionary in her honor. Our family will carry on her Christmas tradition to keep her legacy alive! Your help with this legacy would be greatly appreciated!
